Welcome to the fifth module of this e-learning! In the first four modules you have learned about the UN sustainable goals, about climate change and heatwaves, and about the impact on health. Also, you have learned about interventions that can be used on a micro-, or personal level and meso-, or organisational or building level. This module focusses on interventions on a macro-level. It is oriented on the environment and the local community and the support that can be provided by local en national government (bodies).  

In this short movie it is explained in a very accessible way how urban environments and heat result in health and social consequences as a sort of introduction or teaser on this module.  

What becomes clear is that solving the issue of heat in urban areas requires action of different stakeholders representing different areas.  Figure 1 shows the areas involved in tackling urban heat
